Career Fair 2016 is organized by the Chemical Institute of Canada Toronto Section and University of Toronto ChemClub. The purpose of this career fair is to equip chemists, particularly graduate students and post docs, with skills and connections required to begin their own individual careers. Speakers from a variety of career background (academia, private sector, non-profit organization) have been invited to give talks or participate in panel discussion on relevant topics. There will also be a lunch/booth session that will faciliate networking with various participants.
Confirmed participating organizations and companies include: FP Innovations, Xerox, Digital Specialty Chemicals, GreenCentre, Toronto Research Chemicals, Syngenta, Alphora, Opalux, MITACS, Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE), Let’s Talk Science, Bereskin and Parr, and more to come.
This year, Alphora and IntelliSyn Pharma are holding preliminary on-site screening interviews for potential job positions at each company. In the links here and here and here is a brief job description/requirements of what working at Alphora and IntelliSyn and SFR would entail, respectively. If you are interested in interviewing with either company, please email email@example.com with an updated CV saved as a PDF document labelled “studentname_companyname”. If you are interested in interviewing with both companies, please attach 2 separate CVs with the respective company names. Registration to the career fair is mandatory in order to apply. The deadline for CV applications for IntelliSyn and Alphora is April 14th, the deadline for SFR is April 19th.
Note: University of Toronto student card, Ryerson University student card or CIC membership card will be checked at the registration desk on the day of the event.
Tickets are $5/person for University of Toronto Chemistry, Ryerson University (Department of Chemistry & Biology) and CIC members, and $25/person for non-members. To register, please click visit the EventBrite page. Ticket sales end on April 18th.
